New Sports Bar to Open at Center Ice Location
The new owners of the Center Ice building in Manchester hope to have repairs completed in a few months
A Manchester sports bar that has been closed for years should be reopened in a few months, said an attorney representing the new owners at Manchester's meeting Monday night.
A new bar is expected to be reopened in a "couple of months" at the site of the Center Ice Sports Bar and Grill, located on 2313 Route 547, after repairs are completed, said Tim Horn, an associate from the Valanni and DeLuca law firm which represents the owners.
"They are looking to completely renovate the premises inside and outside and reopen the business as it was previous run as a sports bar," Horn said. "The business has been closed for a number of years, so it will require a couple of months of renovation before it is reopened."

As it stands now, the exterior of the building, which stands near the intersection of Routes 70 and 547, appears weathered with overgrown landscaping.
As part of the consent agenda, the council voted to approve the person to person transfer of a Class D Plenary Retail Consumption License from Center Ice Sports Bar and Grill, Inc. to the new owners, AMRS Liquor Holdings, LLC, which is based in Lakehurst.

The members of the LLC attended the meeting and addressed a rumor heard by councilman Kenneth Vanderziel that the new owners would host dancing at the location.
A member of AMRS Liquor Holdings said that there are no plans to have any dancing at the location, be it for patrons or topless dancing.
Horn said that any necessary zoning applications will be made to "the proper boards" as the renovations move forward in the coming months.
