Oct. 16 Deadline for Voter Registration
Forms available online or in the Ocean County clerk's office

A deadline for voting in the November election is around the corner. Tuesday, Oct. 16 is the last day to register to vote.
To register in New Jersey, you must be:
- a United States citizen
- 18 years of age by the next election
- a resident of the county for 30 days prior to the election

Voter registration can be completed at the Ocean County Clerk's Office, 118 Washington St. in Toms River. Call 732-929-2018 or access the clerk's website for more information. The clerk's office is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
You are not eligible to register to vote if you are serving a sentence or on parole or probation, as a result of a conviction of an indictable offense under state or federal law and have been judged mentally incompetent.

Applications for registration can be obtained from the Division of Elections, the Commissioners of Registration office in the county where you live or from your local municipal clerk.
Registration forms are also available in various state agencies and at Division of Motor Vehicle offices and can be obtained while transacting agency business.
You can also print a registration application and after entering the required data, mail it to the following:

In addition, this form can be used for name and address changes. The Commissioner of Registration cannot accept faxed copies or an electronic transmission of a voter registration form since an original signature is required.
