PHOTOS: Manchester's Memorial Day Remembrance

With the police car of Cpl. Scott Thompson leading the way, the Manchester Township Memorial Day Parade made its way down Lake Drive to the World War II Veterans Memorial Park.

There, with veterans, residents and families gathered, the township solemnly marked the day set aside to honor the memory of those Americans who gave their lives in military service to this country.

“ We are eternally grateful for the military service men and women who have served and died for the United States of America, the land of the free, because of the brave,“ Mayor Kenneth T. Palmer said.

The Mayor’s Veterans Advisory Committee was joined by Daisy, Brownie and Girl Scout troops; Cub Scout and Boy Scout troops; volunteer fire companies and first aid squads; as well as local organizations and veterans organizations, in commemorating our fallen heroes. The Singing Raconteurs and Kum Sung Martial Arts Team performed at the ceremony, and a bicycle decorating contest was conducted with prizes awarded, courtesy of Manchester PBA 246.
