Pine Lake Park Fire Hydrants Get Makeover Thanks To Eagle Scout

Pine Lake Park's gotten a little more colorful, now that Jayden Bennett and four members of Troop 425 have completed his Eagle Scout project.

Jayden, 17, decided to paint all 50 fire hydrants for his project. The hydrants are painted a vibrant blue and white, which makes it easier for firefighters to spot during an emergency, said Gary Sylvester, supervising engineer for the township Public Works Department.

"Something like this presents a key benefit to us here in the township," Sylvester said. "Jayden's project will help us out tremendously and assist township employees in keeping residents safe."

Jayden - a lifelong Manchester resident - and his buddies painted the hydrants in May and June.
