The woman was taken to the hospital for examination after the incident.

Manchester Township Police are reminding drivers they must stop for pedestrians in a crosswalk, after a Manchester woman was struck in a crosswalk by a car and injured while crossing Route 530 on Thursday.

Concetta DeRosa, 83, of the Whiting section of Manchester, was attempting to cross County Route 530 at Swift Circle when she was struck in the crosswalk by a silver 2003 Lincoln Town Car driven by Frank Cinque, 79, also of Whiting, Manchester Capt. Todd Malland said.

DeRosa fell to the ground after the impact and was treated at the scene for bruises and a possible broken left arm by members of the Whiting Volunteer First Aid. She was later taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River for further examination, he said.
