Is Pot Legalization A Good Idea? Manchester Parents, Students Urged To Attend Forum On The Topic
County prosecutors, drug policy center chief to speak at Brick High School Wednesday evening

Should we be legalizing marijuana?
That question stirs more and more debate as attitudes around the country continue to become more and more relaxed toward the drug.
Not everyone believes that attitude is a good idea, however. The prosecutor’s offices from Monmouth and Ocean counties have joined with Barnabas Health to present a forum on marijuana at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Brick High School.

“Let’s Be Blunt: A Conversation about Marijuana” will include presentations by both Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato and Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni, as well as Dr. Kevin Sabet, director of the Drug Policy Institute at the University of Florida. In addition, U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy, an outspoken opponent of legalizing marijuana, will share his personal story of drug addiction.
The forum is free but advance registration is requested. The first 100 people to register in advance will be entered into a drawing that will be held at the forum.
