Preschool Expansion Decision Awaited In Manchester
The district is awaiting word from the state Department of Education on its application for a Preschool Expansion grant.
MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township School District is awaiting a decision from the New Jersey Department of Education on its application for the state's Preschool Expansion Aid program.
The district had applied for the aid earlier this year and is hoping for approval from the state to be able to expand its current preschool program.
The state was anticipating making the final decisions by the end of the day Tuesday.

"We remain hopeful that our application will be approved to implement universal preschool for the Manchester Township Community," the district said. "We will inform the entire community of our application status as soon as we receive it. Thank you for your understanding and continued patience."
If selected, all Manchester Township families with 3- and 4-year-olds would be eligible for the free program, which is anticipated to begin Oct. 3.
