Report: Manchester First Aid Responded to 202 Calls in February

Responders from the Manchester First Aid and Rescue Squad responded to 202 calls for emergency medical services in February, according to a report issued by the organization. 

The duty crew handled 198 calls and volunteer crews handled four calls, said Publicity Officer Edward Lynch in the report prepared for . 

"This is the second sequential month where our mutual aid commercial service, Quality Medical Transport, were not used to respond to our service area," Lynch said. 

The squad's vehicles, including ambulances and the First Responder Unit, drove 2,246 miles and 524 man hours were spent responding to calls, according to Lynch. 

Township Council President Craig Wallis told those in attendance at the March 26 regular meeting that they "need to know how much time and effort these guys put in.

"They do an awful lot," he said. "As always, we thank your organization and other volunteer organizations."
