Skateboarder Injured After Being Hit By Jeep In Manchester: Police

MANCHESTER, NJ — A Seaside Heights man was injured Tuesday evening when he was hit while riding an electric skateboard in Whiting, Manchester police said Wednesday.

Edmund Durra 4th, 43, suffered a head injury including several other injuries and was taken to Community Medical Center by Manchester Township EMS for treatment, Capt. James Komsa said.

Durra was riding the electric skateboard east on Route 530 about 9 p.m. Tuesday when he was hit by a 2020 Jeep Wrangler driven by Raymond Loudy, 49 of New City, New York, Komsa said. Durra was not wearing a helmet, he said.

Loudy was westbound on Route 530 and trying to make a left turn onto Lake Road at the time of the crash, he said.

There were several witnesses at the scene at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation, Komsa said.
