Sleeping Man Charged With Heroin Possession In Lakehurst

Michael McGlynn was found asleep in a car in a shopping center on Route 70 in Lakehurst, police say.

A Brick Township man has been charged with heroin possession after he was found asleep in a car with drug paraphernalia in his lap, Lakehurst police said.

Officer Jason Guide was checking out a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Circle Plaza lot on May 18, Lakehurst Police Chief Eric Higgins said, when he found Michael McGlynn, 27, asleep. On McGlynn’s lap Guide saw a hypodermic needle, a hommade tourniquet and a number of empty wax baggies, Higgins said.

Guide arrested McGlynn and during a subsequent search found six more baggies containing heroin on McGlynn and one more in the car, Higgins said.

He was charged with charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic needle, and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance and was released on a summons, Higgins said.
