Storm Leaves 100 Homes Without Power In Manchester
Power was expected to be restored by the afternoon, police said.
MANCHESTER, NJ — About 100 homes in the Crestwood Village area remained without power on Monday following storms that tore through parts of New Jersey late Sunday night.
The Jersey Central Power & Light outage map reported more than 900 were without power as of 9 a.m. Monday, but that outage has been isolated to about 100 homes, Manchester Capt. Todd Malland said.
Initial reports were that the outage would last until late afternoon, but Malland said JCP&L told township officials power is expected to be restored by early afternoon.

"We had begun to set up a cooling station but have since closed it as the heat index is not reported to be high until around 2 p.m., and they anticipate having it restored prior to then," Malland said.
That is subject to change if the repairs take longer than anticipated or if other issues arise, he said.
