SUV Sideswipes Tractor-Trailer On Route 70: Manchester Police

There were no serious injuries in the incident, which police said happened when the SUV tried to pass a slower vehicle.

MANCHESTER, NJ — A Pennsylvania man suffered minor injuries after his SUV sideswiped a tractor-trailer on Route 70 Monday evening, Manchester police said.

Walter W. Ferinden, 56, of Lansdale, PA, was behind the wheel of a 2014 Subaru Outback headed west on Route 70 on Monday evening that collided with a 2012 Peterbilt tractor-trailer driven by Daniel Brennan, 49, of Manchester shortly before 7 p.m., Capt. Todd Malland said.

Malland said the initial investigation revealed that Ferinden was looking to pass a vehicle in front of him that was traveling slowly on Route 70, and as Ferinden crossed the center line in his Subaru, he sideswiped the tractor-trailer, which was eastbound, damaging the driver's sides of both vehicles.
