Thunderstorm Threat Leads To Lakehurst Fireworks Postponement
The borough has its car show and parade on schedule for Tuesday; decorate your bicycle and join the parade.
LAKEHURST, NJ — The fireworks display scheduled to be held Monday evening at Lake Horicon has been canceled due to threatening weather, Lakehurst officials announced.
The fireworks are being rescheduled and borough officials said they would post updates on the borough's website and Facebook page.
Festivities scheduled for Tuesday are still on, with the parade set for 11 a.m. Residents are encouraged to decorated their bicycles and participate in the parade; gather at borough hall on Union Avenue at 10:45 a.m. The parade is sponsored by the Lakehurst Youth and Recreation Committee.

Starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, the Lakehurst Historical Society will be holding its annual Car Show and Gift Auction at Lakehurst Elementary School.
There will be raffles, contests, vendors, food and lots of cars and trucks from all eras. There is a prize for the most patriotic decorated car and the car show runs until 3 p.m.
