UPDATE: Crash Shuts Route 539 In Manchester For Four Hours

UPDATE: After a four-hour closure, Route 539 between Cherry Street and Hegstrom Avenue reopened to traffic, Manchester police said.

A Nixle alert issued about 7:35 p.m. said utility crews had repaired the pole, which was broken in the crash, police said.

Information on the crash, which occurred as the snow was causing havoc throughout the area and the state, was not immediately available.

PREVIOUSLY:

Manchester Township police are warning that Route 539 is currently closed between Cherry Street and Hegstrom Avenue as emergency personnel deal with a motor vehicle accident.

Police issued a Nixle alert about 3:15 p.m.

The crash damaged a utility pole, police said, and utility and emergency crews are on scene at the crash, between Cherry Street and Central Avenue, the alert said.
