UPDATE: Accident Scene On Route 37 At Colonial Drive Cleared

UPDATE, 1:15 p.m.: Manchester police issued a Nixle alert saying the accident scene had been cleared as of about 1 p.m. and that traffic was flowing normally.

UPDATED, 9:45 a.m.: Readers who traveled through the area described the crash as a collision between a minivan and a tractor trailer.

A photo shared on the Manchester Patch Facebook page shows the minivan against the back of the tractor trailer.

PREVIOUSLY: Motorists traveling in the area of the Colonial Drive intersection on Route 37 Tuesday morning should expect traffic delays -- particularly eastbound -- as Manchester Township police investigate an accident, a Nixle alert says.

Details are scant about the accident, which occurred after 7 a.m. According to radio tranmissions, one patient was airlifted to a trauma center for treatment after the crash.

Traffic eastbound is being diverted so use caution, police said.
