Two Seriously Injured In Motorcycle Crash On Route 70

The man and his passenger were airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, police said.

A motorcyclist and his passenger were hospitalized Sunday after they suffered significant injuries on a crash on Route 70, Manchester police said.

Prantosh Drejaj, 50, and his passenger, Linda Drejaj, 22, both of Browns Mills, Pemberton Township, both were airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, after the crash, which happened about 3:20 p.m., Manchester Capt. Todd Malland said.

They were westbound on a black 2005 Harley-Davidson Sportster when they collided with a blue 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe that was stopped to make a left turn onto Roosevelt City Road in the Whiting section of Manchester, Malland said.

Both Prantosh Drejaj and Linda Drejaj were thrown from the motorcycle as a result of the impact, he said, and the motorcycle slid 49 feet before coming to rest in the dirt on the westbound shoulder of Route 70.

Prantosh Drejaj sustained significant trauma to his face and legs, while Linda Drejaj sustained significant trauma to her knee and chest, he said.

Kathleen Driver, 63, the driver of the Hyundai, was properly restrained at the time of the collision and was transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River for the complaint of head pain.

Assisting at the scene was Quality Medical Transport, MONOC Paramedics, as well as Penn Star and Southstar Medevacs. The crash remains under investigation by Patrolman Ian Bole from the Manchester Township Traffic Safety Section, Malland said.
