Utilities Department Creation In Manchester: Monday Manual

MANCHESTER, NJ— Welcome to the Aug. 8 edition of Monday Manual, where we highlight events coming up during the week in the Manchester area.

The Manchester Township Council is set to meet at 6 p.m. Monday. On the agenda is the second reading and possible adoption of an ordinance to create a Department of Utilities in the township.

That department would combine the public works and the water and sewer departments under one department.

It would include a director of public works who would oversee the following:

  • Division of Streets
  • Division of Lakes, Parks and Playgrounds
  • Division of Central Maintenance
  • Division of Sanitation and Recycling
  • Division of Buildings and Grounds
  • Division of Engineering

There would be a director of utilities, who would oversee the Division of Water and Sewer and the Eastern and Western Service areas.
