It’s a quiet week in Manchester. Here’s a few things on tap leading into Presidents Day weekend:

Tonight, the Township Council meets at 6 p.m. at the municipal building. The agenda includes license renewals for taxi companies and mobile home parks.

On Wednesday, the Ocean County Library’s Upper Shores Branch at 112 Jersey City Ave., Lavallette, hosts the show “Paul Robeson: Renaissance Man,” at 4 p.m. Actor/educator Marvin Jeffersonas portrays one of the most well-known African Americans of the 20th century. Paul Robeson, a New Jersey native, was a social activist and advocate for international peace, an All-American athlete, a lawyer, singer, linguist and scholar. Funded by the Horizons Speakers Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Also on Wednesday, the Manchester branch of the library is hosting the feature film “Get On Up,” a biopic on the life of singer/songwriter James Brown. The movie will be shown at noon, 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

For baseball fans, on Wednesday go to the Jackson branch of the library, 2 Jackson Dr., for “Before You Can Say ’Jackie Robinson’: Black Baseball in American and New Jersey in the Era of the Color Line.” This presentation, by Dr. Lawrence Hogan, includes exhibit materials, as well as selections from the acclaimed video documentary of the same name. Sponsored by New Jersey Council for the Humanities, the presentation is at 2 p.m.
