Weiner Resigns Manchester Council Seat Due To Impending Move
Breaking: The councilman, who has served for more than 10 years, is moving out of town; resumes are being accepted for his council seat.

MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township Council is accepting resumes to fill the council seat being vacated by Councilman Brendan Weiner.
Weiner announced Monday that he is resigning his seat on the council effective Feb. 21 because he is moving out of Manchester. His current term expires Dec. 31, 2018.
Weiner, who first took office July 1, 2006 and was twice re-elected. In addition to his work on the council, Weiner has been involved with the Caregiver Volunteers of Ocean County, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Ocean County, the Lakehurst/Manchester Rotary Club, the New Jersey League of Municipalities Legislative Committee, the Ocean County Senior Advisory Council, the Ocean County Mosquito Commission, the Ocean County Missing & Exploited Children’s Advisory Commission and the Manchester Open Space Committee.

The council will be appointing someone to fill Weiner's seat for the remainder of this year; the 2018 year of his term will be filled during the Nov. 7 general election.
