Woman, Child Hurt As Car Rear-Ends Parked Vehicle In Manchester, Police Say
The car hit another car that was parked along the side of the road near an intersection in Manchester, police said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — A woman and a 6-year-old child were seriously injured early Sunday when a driver hit a parked car in Manchester, police said.
Vanessa Movil, 25, of Manchester, complained of pain in her head, chest and leg after the crash, and the child had a leg injury, Manchester Capt. Albert Vega said. Both were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment, he said.
The crash happened about 1:30 a.m. Sunday on Eighth Avenue near Cumberland Boulevard, Vega said.

Ricardo Cleophat, 33, of Manchester was driving west on Eighth Avenue in a 2018 Honda Fit when he rear-ended a gold 2009 Hyundai Azera that was parked on Eighth Avenue less than 50 feet from the stop sign at Cumberland, Vega said.
Cleophat, who was wearing his seat belt, was not injured. Movil and the 6-year-old were passengers in the Honda, along with a 2-year-old child, who was not injured, he said.

Movil was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, Vega said.
Yehuda Kellerman, 27, of Passaic, who was sitting in the Hyundai, reported no injuries, he said.
Patrolman Keith Douglas of the department's Traffic Safety unit is investigating but the preliminary indication is failure to maintain lane is the primary cause of the crash, Vega said.
Assisting at the scene were EMTs from the Manchester Township Division of Emergency Services, EMTs from Berkeley First Aid, and Robert Wood Johnson paramedics.
