Woman Faces Heroin, Crystal Meth Charges After Traffic Stop
Police say Valerie Sheridan had 88 bags of heroin in her car when it was stopped in neighboring Plumsted.

An Ocean County woman who had crystal meth and 88 bags of heroin in her car is facing possession and distribution charges, police in Plumsted Township say.
Valerie Sheridan, 26, of the New Egypt section of Plumsted, was driving a silver Ford Taurus on Route 537 on Friday when Plumsted Detective AJ Mantz from the Special Enforcement Team conducted a motor vehicle stop shortly before 5 p.m., according to Plumsted police.
After a brief investigation, Mantz requested a K-9, and the K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, police said. A search warrant was completed and uncovered 88 wax folds containing heroin, as well as a quantity of methamphetamine known as crystal meth.

Sheridan was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, and possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
She is being held in the Ocean County Jail, Toms River, in lieu of $50,000 bail, according to Corrections Department records.

The vehicle has been held pending forfeiture application, police said. Officer Ryan Nani with K-9 lock, Officer Danielle Depalma, Detective Vince Doell, and Sheriff’s Officer James Cohout with the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit assisted in the investigation.
