MANVILLE, NJ — A Manville Board of Education member has earned the highest individual board member certification offered through the New Jersey School Boards Association, according to the Manville School District.
The district announced that Sharon Lukac received the Master Board Member Certification through the NJSBA's Board Member Academy.
The designation is the third and highest individual level of board member certification available in New Jersey, according to the district.
The district said the certification recognizes board members' commitment to governance, professional development and leadership in public education.
To earn the designation, board members must complete 40 cumulative Board Member Academy credits through professional training, take part in multiple county meetings and statewide NJSBA Delegate Assemblies, and show mastery of board responsibilities through a formal examination or portfolio submission.
Dr. Maroun, the superintendent, praised Lukac's accomplishment in the district announcement.
"Mrs. Lukac’s achievement highlights her profound dedication to continual learning and effective governance," said Maroun. "This certification ensures our board continues to serve our community with the highest standard of expertise."
According to the district, Lukac has been an advocate for Manville public education and has focused on student needs, academic excellence and effective policy.
The district said her completion of the Master Board Member program strengthens the leadership foundation within the school district.
