Blood Donors Needed For Manville Library Drive Sept. 25
Appointments are still open for whole blood and Power Red donations at Friday's drive.
MANVILLE, NJ — The Manville library branch will host a Red Cross blood drive Friday, Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to the library’s event listing.
Appointments are required, and the Red Cross scheduling page shows openings for whole blood and Power Red donations at the library, located at 100 South 10th Avenue in the community room.
The library describes whole blood as the “most common donation type,” during which “approximately a pint” is collected. It says the process usually takes about an hour.

A Power Red donation allows an eligible donor to give two units of red blood cells during one appointment. The Red Cross says an automated process separates the blood and returns the donor’s platelets, plasma and saline. Power Red donors must meet eligibility requirements, and the option is intended for donors with type O, A negative or B negative blood.
Residents can reserve an appointment through the Red Cross.
