MANVILLE, NJ — Meet Haydes! He has been chosen as Manville Patch's Pet Of The Week.

"This is Haydes. My husband and I rescued him from a bad situation about 10 years ago. He's now about 12 years old .

He's a toy poodle, blind in one eye and nearly deaf. He is very well behaved, and very aristocratic.
When I got him my husband said it was a girly dog and poodles were just not a man's dog. I said I'd make him not look like a poodle and as you can see, he's unique. The colors wash out and are non-toxic.

I once fell in front of him and he started freaking out and barking, running around looking for I guess someone to help me, reminded me of Lassie for what he was trying to do."

Participating in the Pet of the Week happenings is simple: submit your nomination by emailing alexis.tarrazi@patch.com with subject line "Manville Pet Of The Week." Be sure to include a photograph or two of your pet, a paragraph about what makes him or her so great, and the town you're from.

You can choose to include your name, but you don't need to. Then just keep an eye out for a photo of your pet on the Patch!

The photo can be of a present pet, or it can be a baby picture of the adult pet you're so proud of today. All photos must be property of the submitter.
