Advisory: Social Security Fraud Alert

Several residents have been receiving scam telephone calls from people alleging they are from Social Security. Do not provide them with information such as your social security number of financial information. If you receive a suspicious call from someone alleging to be from Social Security, hang up, and then report details of the call to the Office of the Inspector General at https://oig.ssa.gov/ or call their fraud hotline at 1-800-269-0271. Only provide information to those you are sure are with a legitimate organization. This can be done by you calling the organization yourself, not by them calling and soliciting information from you.
