Manville Library To Screen 9/11 Drama Friday

MANVILLE, NJ — A drama centered on a family’s loss after the September 11 attacks will be shown at the Manville branch of the Somerset County Library System on Friday.

The library will screen Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Community Room at 100 South 10th Avenue. The showing commemorates the 25th anniversary of the attacks.

The PG-13 film follows Oskar, a boy who believes his father, who died in the World Trade Center attacks, left him a message hidden in New York City. After finding a mysterious key in his father’s closet, Oskar searches the city’s five boroughs for the lock it fits. Along the way, he begins moving beyond his loss and develops a greater understanding of the world around him.

The 2011 film was directed by Stephen Daldry and stars Tom Hanks, Thomas Horn and Sandra Bullock.
