Manville Local Slashed Man With Sword Over Parking Spot: Police
A borough man was found with several deep lacerations to his head and arm and had one of his fingers nearly severed as a result.

MANVILLE, NJ — A Manville man is in custody after slashing another borough resident with a sword several times over a parking spot, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael Robertson.
Jared Razzano, 35, of North 9th Avenue was charged with second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
On Wednesday at around 10:28 p.m., a 911 call reported an assault in the area of Knopf Street and North 9th Avenue in Manville.

Razzano reportedly had a verbal altercation with a 40-year-old Manville man regarding a parking space, according to the investigation.
During the altercation, the victim confronted Razzano with a four-foot aluminum contractor’s level and allegedly hit Razzano, causing several bruises and abrasions to his back, face, arm and leg, according to Robertson.

Razzano then got a sword from his vehicle and began slashing the victim several times causing serious bodily injuries to the victim’s head and arm, according to the report.
The victim also had one of his fingers nearly severed as a result of the assault. The victim was transported to an area trauma center for emergency treatment and was listed in stable condition.
Razzano was arrested, charged and lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
