Manville Police To Collect Unwanted Prescription Medications

Residents can safely dispose of their unused, unwanted and/or expired prescription medications on Saturday.

MANVILLE, NJ — Manville Police Department will be collecting unwanted prescription medications on Saturday as part of “Operation Take Back New Jersey" where residents can safely dispose of their unused, unwanted and/or expired prescription medications.

A medication collection site will be hosted on Saturday, April 28 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at police headquarters, 2 North Main St. in Manville.

Residents are encouraged to bring their unused, unwanted and/or expired prescription medications during this time for disposal as follows:

  • The program is anonymous and no questions or requests for identification will be made of anyone disposing of medication.
  • Medication may be disposed of either in its original container or by removing the medication from its container and depositing it directly into the disposal box. If the original container is going to be deposited, participants are encouraged to remove any labels in advance that may contain personal identifying information.
  • Liquid products, such as cough medicine, must remain sealed in their original container. The depositor should ensure the cap is on screwed on tightly to prevent leakage.
  • Syringes and other sharp instruments will not be accepted.
