"This is an unusual request. I have received a message from the Manville Public Library regarding students who are using the Library for after care purposes in lieu of completing work. There are not enough seats and adult personnel at the Manville Public Library to accommodate students who are not there for the correct reasons. Please speak to your child in regards to their visit to the Library after school. It is not to be used as a hangout.
The Library does not want to turn any student away but they cannot accommodate the numbers and behaviors of many of our students. The concern is that the students are not safely supervised based on the Library staff ratio to students. Any misconduct will result in the child being asked to leave.
