The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) has been changing how Americans view people with a mental illness. This year NAMI’s fundraiser will once again celebrate its steadfast commitment to raising awareness and building a community of hope for those in need. The New Jersey fundraiser is a 5K walk taking place in Seaside Park on May 10, 2014. Interested supporters do not have to participate in the walk to make a difference and can make a donation at From Darkness to Hope. Registration for the walk can also be processed at the same website.
NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. Its mission is to advocate for access to services, treatment, support, education and research.
The deadline for donations is May 5, 2014. Your tax-deductible donation will help NAMI continue the work that is already in progress as well as expand to other programs. For more information, please contact Paula Ricker at 862-205-3090, or send an e-mail to sweeee2th@gmail.com.
