2 Accidents On Same Afternoon Close Springfield Avenue In Maplewood
Two motor vehicle accidents on the same stretch of road closed a major Maplewood thoroughfare.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Two car accidents temporarily closed the eastbound lane of Springfield Avenue in Maplewood on Saturday afternoon, police said.

Police said that the first accident was a three-car crash at Springfield Avenue and Indiana Street. All involved were evaluated by the South Essex Fire Dept and refused medical attention, police said.

Also, a two-car accident occurred at Springfield and Laurel Avenues. A driver complained of back pain, was evaluated by South Orange Rescue Squad, and was transported to Newark Beth Israel Hospital with the complaint of back pain.
The second driver was evaluated by the South Essex Fire Department and transported to Saint Barnabas Medical Center for evaluation, police said.
