2 Teens Robbed At Gunpoint In Maplewood Thursday Night, Police Say
Police say two Maplewood women, 18, were walking in town on Thursday night and robbed by 2 men, one with a gun.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Two 18-year-old women were walking in Maplewood Thursday night when they were robbed by two men, one with a gun, police said.
Police Chief Jim DeVaul said that at approximately 9:18 p.m., police received a 911 call reporting a robbery on the corner of Burr Road and Parker Avenue.
The two women were approached by two men who demanded they hand over their phones, police said.

One of the men displayed a black handgun, possibly a revolver, police said.
"A struggle then ensued where one female victim was forced to the ground where her phone was taken," police said. "The suspects then ran on Burr Road and entered an awaiting black four-door vehicle."

The vehicle headed north on Burr Road toward South Orange, police said.
Police described the suspects as "A black male between 19-20 years old, skinny, short cut hair and black COVID mask, [and]a short black male with a medium build wearing a black COVID mask with possible zip-up jacket."
One woman had a minor abrasion to her right elbow, police said, but both declined medical attention.
