3r Living to Close Maplewood Store on September 30
But the eco-friendly lifestyle retailer will continue selling wares online.
3r Living, the Maplewood Village retailer specializing in eco-friendly fixtures and furniture, announced today that doors would be closing as of September 30.
Owner Mark Casserta posted the news on his blog earlier today (Patch tweeted it). While Casserta expressed his sadness at closing, he did note an upside: "You will still be able to find some of our store's most popular products, in addition to some great new lines and finds, on our website 3rliving.com. We will continue to search for and promote the highest quality, future friendly products. We hope that you will continue to shop with us on the web."
Casserta also took "this opportunity to thank all of our customers and friends for their support and patronage over these past three years. We will miss seeing you on a regular basis and it has been a pleasure to be a part of this community."
Another silver lining for rabid Maplewood shoppers is the 3r Living final sale (in store only—not online!) Most everything in the store is discounted 25% off or more. All sales are final. In addition, many of the store fixtures and display accessories will also be on sale.

And as soon as we know what new venture will be coming to the 3r Living location at 147 Maplewood Avenue, we will let you know. Maplewood Village has experienced remarkably few vacancies despite the stagnant economy. For example, Dr. Maria Cardona quickly expanded her business and relocated to the old Maplewood Pet Store space. And now Hopscotch is moving downstairs to take Dr. Cardona's former groundfloor space on Maplewood Avenue.
