After Car Hits Tree In Maplewood, Union Man Charged With DWI
A Union man was charged after a car hit a tree in Maplewood last weekend, police said.
MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Police charged a man with driving while intoxicated on Monday after his car struck a tree in the wee hours of the morning, they said.
Maplewood Police Officer Mohammad Alabdalla responded to the area of Berkshire Road at 4:07 a.m. on a report of a car hitting a tree, police said.
After investigation on scene, Alabdalla arrested Erikson Ortiz, 47, of Union. Ortiz was issued a motor vehicle summons for DWI along with additional motor vehicle summonses and he was released to the custody of a family member, police said.
