MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Three town committee candidates have filed to run in Maplewood's upcoming primary election.
Two seats on the Maplewood Township Committee are up for election in 2026. Terms last for three years.
Democratic and Republican candidates will compete for their party’s nomination in a primary election on Tuesday, June 2. The winners will match up against any independent or third-party candidates for all the marbles in a general election on Nov. 3.
Here’s who filed to run for Maplewood Town Committee in the primary, according to the Essex County Clerk’s Office:

In addition to the Maplewood Town Committee race, local voters will get to cast ballots for several county and federal seats. Primary races are taking place for U.S. senator, a U.S. House of Representatives seat in the 11th district, Essex County executive and the Essex County Board of Commissioners.

Election Day for the 2026 primary takes place on June 2. Early in-person voting will take place from May 26 to May 31.
