Maplewood’s Bob Miller Oysterfest Returns Saturday To Support Melanoma Research, Local Families

Adults-only fundraiser at The Woodland will feature live bands, an open bar, bagpipers and a raw oyster bar.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Maplewood's Bob Miller Oysterfest will return Saturday with live bands, bagpipers and its popular raw oyster bar — an adults-only outdoor fundraiser for melanoma awareness.

The community fundraiser event is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. under the tent at The Woodland, 60 Woodland Road in Maplewood. It is presented by the Robert J. Miller Foundation in partnership with the Township of Maplewood, according to the foundation's 2026 press release.

This year's "Stars, Stripes and Shells" event celebrates America's 250th anniversary while supporting local MAPSO families and the Melanoma Research Foundation, the release says.

The evening will feature two live bands, an open bar, bagpipers, catering by Celebrated Foods and a raw oyster bar. Oysterfest is an adults-only outdoor event.

The foundation was created in 2015 in memory of Robert J. Miller, a longtime Maplewood resident who died after a two-year battle with melanoma, according to the release. Since 2015, the foundation says Oysterfest has raised more than $175,000 for melanoma research and financial donations to local families in need.

Elizabeth Winterbottom Homes is the event's platinum sponsor. The foundation is seeking sponsors and donations. To become a sponsor, visit the Oysterfest sponsorship page. Those who cannot attend Oysterfest but would still like to support its work can make a donation online.

Tickets are available through the Robert J. Miller Oysterfest ticket page, which includes an option to donate for those who cannot attend. Those planning to attend — or looking for ways to support the fundraiser — can follow Bob Miller Oysterfest on Facebook for event updates. For more information, email the Robert J.
