ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ recently continued its tradition of delivering holiday meals and care packages to older adults and Holocaust survivors throughout the community ahead of Rosh Hashanah.

Volunteers delivered 139 holiday meals in North Jersey, helping ensure recipients could celebrate the season with tradition, dignity and the warmth of knowing their community is thinking of them.

Each meal featured roast chicken, potato kugel, broccoli, health salad, and apple strudel. Recipients also received a holiday care package containing a fresh apple and a jar of honey: symbols of hope for a sweet New Year.

"These deliveries are about more than providing a holiday meal – they remind our older adults and Holocaust survivors that they are valued members of our community," said Diane Squadron, CEO at Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ.

"We are grateful to the Jewish Community Foundation, our generous funders and supporters, and especially our volunteers for making this meaningful tradition possible," Squadron said.
