MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Drivers in Maplewood should prepare for several road closures along Irvington Avenue as scheduled gas main infrastructure work continues.
The Maplewood Police Department announced Friday that sections of Irvington Avenue between Franklin Terrace and Putnam Street will be closed Saturday, Monday and next Friday.
Closures are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, although police warned they could last longer depending on construction needs.
Some local and business traffic will be accommodated during the closures.
Detour signs will be posted to help motorists navigate the area.
Police are urging drivers to "avoid the area if possible" and follow posted detour signs.
