Business Card Exchange Draws a Crowd—and a Couch Potato
This year's Chamber of Commerce business card exchange at The Burgdorff drew an eclectic group of realtors, bakers, movers and shakers.
Realtors, publishers, health care providers, insurance agents, bankers, an able baker and one recovering couch potato met up Wednesday night at the Annual Business Card Exchange jointly hosted by the Maplewood Chamber of Commerce and the South Orange Chamber of Commerce.
Recovering couch potato?
That would be Mike Schatzki, MPA, CSP, of The Recovering Couch Potato. Mike works as a motivational speaker for companies large and small to spread the word that even moderate exercise (such as walking) can improve health and lower workers' and businesses' health care costs. [Of course, Toby Feller and Karen Robson were on hand to let everyone know that the South Mountain YMCA will ensure that today's youth never become couch potatoes in the first place.]

The annual business card exchange has been going on for longer than anyone remembers, said organizer Rene Conlon, and it's always one of the biggest networking events of the year. Last year's event took place at the Woman's Club; the previous year, it was at SOPAC. This year's attendees enjoyed the new entrance and other improvements at Maplewood's Burgdorff Center for Performing Arts.
