Set in 1979, 9 to 5: The Musical is a high-energy, feel-good comedy following three working women who take on their overbearing boss and transform their workplace. Packed with humor, heart, and unforgettable music, the show is a celebration of friendship, empowerment, and standing up for change.
The production is directed by Nicholas J. Clarey, with music direction by Holland J. Jancaitis and choreography by Nicholas J. Clarey, Kristin Myles, and Eirain Cortez.

interACT Theatre Productions Presents 9 to 5: The Musical

The Ethical Culture Society and the Community Coalition on Race will host an author talk on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Ethical Culture Society, 516 Prospect St., Maplewood, NJ.
This special event will feature author David Felsen discussing his book New York City Monuments of Black Americans: A History and Guide. In the book, Felsen uncovers the powerful and often overlooked stories behind thirty monuments honoring Black Americans—from Booker T. Washington to Harriet Tubman—while examining the long struggle for recognition in New York City’s public spaces.
Presented as part of the Community Coalition on Race’s 2026 theme, “Do Not Erase Our History,” the conversation will invite attendees to reflect on whose stories are commemorated, whose are excluded, and how public memory shapes a shared understanding of justice and belonging. Attendees can expect a thoughtful and engaging discussion grounded in history, place, and community dialogue.

Maplewood Community Music is pleased to present its Annual Spring Concert, performed by the Maplewood Concert Band, on Thursday, April 23 at 7:30 PM at The Woodland, 60 Woodland Road, Maplewood, NJ.Continuing its creative journey through the alphabet, the band’s spring program—titled “H to O-Verture!”—will feature an engaging selection of classical and popular works. Highlights include Hungarian Dance No. 5 and No. 6 by Johannes Brahms, Looney Tunes Overture arranged by Bill Holcombe, and selections from My Fair Lady by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe, among other favorites.The Maplewood Concert Band is led by Music Director and Conductor Michael Jedwabnik, with Associate Conductor Ginny Johnson.This concert is free and open to the public.
