Care For The Troops of Maplewood
Maplewood library organizes a drive for those serving overseas.

The local troops abroad have a wish list and the Maplewood library has asked the community to help make it come true.
So for the month of June, the and are collecting care package items for the Maplewood Committee for Servicemen and Servicewomen.
"It helps give back to the community," Joanne Beckerich, the programming and publicity director, said. "Over 600 people come into the library a day so we're a good spot for this."

The library is asking for every sort of food item from Easy Mac to tabasco for the care packages. They are also asking for personal items such as shampoo or toothpaste, as well as other items like batteries and photo cards. Check out the full list on the attached PDF.
In the past Beckerich said the library has been very successful with food drives and other community projects such as the south mountain wildlife rehabilitation.
