High School In Essex County To Host Rubik's Cube Tournament
Columbia High School in Maplewood will host a Rubik's Cube tournament on Saturday, March 10.

Ever solved a Rubik’s cube? This Saturday, March 10, 2018, Columbia High School (CHS) will be hosting a tournament for speed solving those devilish puzzles that take you years to figure out after scrambling.
The competition, lasting from 9 am to 6 pm, will feature up to 100 competitors of all ages engaging in heated events to try and win against their fellow competitors in the cafeteria of the high school. The three events, consisting of 3x3 cubes, 2x2 cubes, and 3x3 one-handed, each have their own prize.

Those who are interesting in competing can register at https://tinyurl.com/ycm5cr54 for a fee of $15 (to be paid at the door, cash only). Competitors of all ages are welcome! Competing students, with the presentation of a school ID, will receive a discount on the registration fee. The entry fee for spectators is $4, however, children under 8 get in for free.
This is a first-time event for CHS, hosted by the CHS Rubik’s Cube Club, and will be great for beginners and those wishing to gain practice for World Cubing Association competitions. Questions can be emailed to columbiacubing@protonmail.com. Time to start learning how to solve those cubes!
