School officials issued a Code Yellow alert at Columbia High School in Maplewood on Thursday afternoon after students told authorities that there may be a gun present on campus.
Authorities lifted the lockdown after police located a student with a “toy weapon,” The Village Green reported.
“This afternoon upon returning from lunch, students reported that another student might be in possession of a weapon,” school administrators stated around 1 p.m. “The police department secured the student in question and a toy weapon. The code yellow has now been lifted, and all students and staff are safe.”

The Maplewood Police Department issued the following statement at 1:54 p.m.
“The Maplewood Police Department responded to Columbia High School regarding a Code Yellow incident. The incident has been resolved and all students/staff have returned to their normal schedule.”
