Columbia High Student Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist

A Columbia High School student was nominated as a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist for 2018.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — A Columbia High School student has brought pride to their school after being nominated as 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program semifinalists earlier this week.

According to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), about 1.6 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

The nationwide pool of semifinalists represents less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.
