Cosplay As Firefighter At Open House In Maplewood Saturday

The festivities cap fire prevention week with a new engine dedication.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ - Residents curious about the inner-workings of the Maplewood Firehouse will get to cosplay for real as part of the open house scheduled for Saturday.

The event is set for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and takes place at 105 Dunnell Road and will include live demonstrations.

The event caps off Fire Prevention Week with a new engine dedication.

Attendees are welcomed to operate a real fire hose, climb on the fire apparatus, try on firefighting gear and see the equipment carried on the trucks.

The demos include vehicle extrication and tower ladder rescue. The Fire Department will have giveaways for children, fire prevention information and light snacks and refreshments.
