Electricity Restored To Downtown Maplewood (UPDATE)

The electrical outage in parts of downtown Maplewood affected approximately 160 homes and commercial sites on Friday, but power is back.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ —The Township of Maplewood said Friday morning that some residences and businesses downtown were without electricity — but power was restored by noon, two hours earlier than estimated.

"Please be advised that the electrical supply to the downtown area of Maplewood has been de-energized as a result of circuit failure," said the original announcement."PSE&G is currently investigating the scope of the repairs. As of now, roughly 160 residential and commercial customers are impacted by the outage." But power was restored later.
