ABOUT ACTING WITH EMILY's SPECIAL NEEDS/INCLUSION CLASSES: (written by Emily): "Listening is a huge part of acting as well, and through my conversations and work with behaviorist Nicole Turon Diaz, of Learning By Design, realized that students with special needs can benefit from acting classes. I do not offer traditional special needs classes, but rather, inclusion classes that are open to both special needs and typical peers. We use our "regular" curriculum of improvisation, acting for the camera, and creative drama to reach, engage, and encourage a special needs community in a warm, exciting, thoughtful, and personal way. Nicole, as a behaviorist, is the one with all the "formal training". However, I have found that my inclusion classes at Acting With Emily are the highlight of my week, and the social and behavioral changes exhibited by our students who take our classes are extraordinary."
