Live Jazz: Billy Drummond Quartet

The Billy Drummond Quartet could headline at any jazz club in New York City, or anywhere in the world. It is a jazz ‘dream team. Four of the most eminent musicians on today’s Jazz scene -- Mulgrew Miller on piano, Tim Ries on sax, François Moutin on bass, and Billy Drummond on drums.  Also performing is the Dan Rufolo Trio – whose members are exceptional musicians in their own right, but starting out in their careers.  The Trio is led by Dan Rufolo, who has been playing Jazz services at Christ Church for several years.

Tickets can be reserved online in advance at the Christ Church website (www.ccsnj.org/jazz). Some will be available at the door.  Cost is $25 Adults, $20 Students.

The program will include a mixture of lyrical ballads, up-tempo numbers, ensemble & solo playing. These four musicians have extensive experience performing and recording around the world, and have major presence on the Internet, as does the Dan Rufolo Trio.

Just a few biographical highlights: pianist Mulgrew Miller has headlined over a dozen performances at the Kennedy Center, in Washington, D.C.  Billy Drummond drums around the world, has a busy recording schedule, and also holds down a 'day job’ teaching at Juilliard and NYU.  Bassist François Moutin is a native of France who plays intuitively with Billy Drummond.  Tim Ries is a virtuoso jazz saxophonist who also has a regular, non-jazz gig, on tour with The Rolling Stones.   We are honored, thrilled, and proud to have these musicians play at Christ Church."
