Learning Your Way - Thursday Nights at Congregation Beth El

Overall Description

Join us for the fall minimester of Congregation Beth El’s new Beit Midrash! Thursday evenings throughout the year our halls will be buzzing with discussions, study and creativity by those seeking to take another step in their Jewish journey, either for serious learning or just to have some fun! There will be opportunities to study Judaism through holidays, the mind-body connection, arts and culture, social justice, theology, and traditional texts. This program is free and open to the public! No previous experience necessary! Rides are available for those who need.

In September, courses will focus on the theme of the upcoming High Holy Days. From 8-8:45pm choose from Jewish Jamming: A Musician’s Group; Taking Inventory of Our Lives: Meditation for the High Holy Days; Holidays 101: Rosh Hashanah-Simchat Torah; or Reflections on Repentance: Talmudic and Rabbinic Texts on Teshuvah. From 9-9:45pm choose between To Whom Am I Praying? and Majesty, Mystique, Memory: An Introduction to High Holy Day Music. We’ll take a break for the fall holidays in October and then resume in November, meeting most Thursdays throughout the year, and offering a variety of classes.
