Maplewood Garden Club's 84th Season Begins

The Maplewood Garden Club Opens its 84th Season with Chris Roddick

Maplewood is well known for its beautiful shade trees, but do you know how to choose one for your backyard, or how to care for the one out front? Attend the Maplewood Garden Club’s opening lecture when Christopher Roddick will discuss Suburban Tree Selection, Planting and Care. Mr. Roddick is the Head Arborist at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens where he has been professionally engaged since 1993. His training has included the renowned horticultural program at the famous Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. He will speak on the careful selection, planting, routine care and disease prevention of suburban yard trees most common to the greater Northern New Jersey and Southern New York state environs. Come find out how to choose and care for your trees, Monday, September 12, 7:30 PM at the Maplewood Memorial Library, 51 Baker St., Maplewood, NJ. The meeting is open to the public, admission is free and refreshments (often home made!) will be served.
